After we've landed, I tell Allen I will let him know what hotel we are staying at, and Bradley and I take off to collect our luggage from the baggage claim. Allen clenched his jaw tight when he realized I wasn’t going with him, and instead, I would be continuing my plans to spend this time with Bradley.

It isn’t that I don’t want to be with Allen. I would love it if we spent this time here together. But I made Bradley a promise that I intend to keep. He will still have a date for the business dinner, and Allen won’t stop that. No matter what he thinks.

Bradley guides me out of the airport, and we quickly find the truck he said he had waiting for us. As Bradley puts our suitcases in the back, I stand on the sidewalk with my phone in my hand.

I want to text Allen, but I refrain and instead pocket my phone. Suddenly, a pair of large arms slide around my waist. I smell Allen's woodsy cologne and close my eyes as I inhale the sexy scent. No man’s smell should be that intoxicating.

Allen’s lips brush against the shell of my ear as his deep voice whispers to me, “Did you think you could get away from me that easily, baby?”

A tiny throb starts between my thighs as I hear his voice. It’s confusing that my body responds to him no matter if he speaks to me or lays those chocolate brown eyes on me. The same happened when we first met. My body ignited with each passing look he gave me.

I laugh a little at his possessiveness. It’s so hot that he wants all the control, in and out of the bedroom, apparently.

His teeth bite down on my lobe, and I feel his mouth stretch into a grin when I gasp in surprise. He’s liking this back-and-forth game we’ve been playing for the last few hours. He hasn’t admitted it, but I can sense it.

I level him with a stare and say, “I already told you, Allen. I came here with Bradley. I made a promise, and I won’t break that promise to him.”

The sparkle in his eyes fades, and he glowers at me. “And I already told you, baby. He only wants to fuck you. Why can’t you see that?”

We haven’t been near each other very long, and already we are having an argument again. If we can’t get along and agree for five seconds, how will we get to know each other? It takes a long time to build a relationship with someone. I step out of his hold and turn to face him.

I cross my arms in front of my chest, and give him a stern look. “Bradley and I are just friends, Allen. Don’t be jealous.”

I watch as his pupils dilate, and the brown in his eyes deepens. The color is nowhere to be found, just black holes.

Allen takes a step forward into my space, and his voice lowers.
